Mike asks: Hello, I have been a contractor and involved in residential construction & remodeling for over 35 years. I live in shelton and have done a few projects in Ridgefield. I want to get LEED AP certification. I know I have to get the GA green associate first and would like to know the best way to go about this. There is to much info on the web and it is confusing and when I saw Ridgefield, it grounded me. I am currently working with an interior designer and we are currently working on getting a tear down and new green home build in Rowayton norwalk, so this is the perfect time for me and maybe us to get certified as I enjoy teaching homew owners about safe and energy efficient products. Please send me any info you can on the steps I need to take. Thank you for your time.
Answer: Hi Mike, thanks for your email.
In terms of preparing for the LEED Green Associate exam, it's best to get familiar with the material by downloading the free LEED Green Associate handbook at this this link.
Also, you can check out the reference guide from the U.S Green Building Council. You may buy that online at their website. If you are a member of the U.S. Green Building Council, you will get a discount.
If you are still looking for more information, there are a lot of helpful tips in terms of preparing for the LEED Green Associate exam in these posts here and here.
Alternatively, there are bundled products that we offer on this site which do an excellent job of helping people prepare for the LEED Green Associate exam and many of these come with study guides/reference guides as well. Two very popular options are:
1) LEED Green Associate Platinum Pack
2) LEED Green Associate online study bundle
Both of these programs are very good values and come with online training and practice exams. The Platinum Pack offers an excellent exam simulator as well as a 239 page LEED Green Associate study guide.
Either of these programs can give you the information you need to study to pass the LEED Green Associate exam.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions or feedback.
