Geraldine asks: Hi there, I'm a LEED AP since Sept 2008. As you know with v.3 I have now (until 2011) to choose a LEED specialty. I'd like to take LEED Homes. But to register to the specialty credentials exam with GBCI I have to have a project registered for LEED certification within 3 years of my application submittal date, which I don't have as I never fully worked on a LEED project.
Does Green-Buildings.com offer a LEED Professional Project Experience program for that purpose? Would this program be accepted by GBCI as a prerequisite for me to enroll in the LEED for Homes 2010 exam? Regards, Geraldine
Answer: Hi Geraldine, thank you for your question. Yes, the GreenStep Professional Project Experience Program is designed for professionals, such as yourself, who may be interested in working on a real registered LEED project.
As a LEED AP, you already have a deep level of understanding of the various LEED credit categories and how they contribute to a project, and I'm sure that the Project Leader would be delighted to have you work with him on the job. As a participant in the program, you will get involved with LEED Online, access the tools and systems involved with tracking specific credits and responsibilities and contribute to the various project requirements.
