Steve asks: I am trying to become a LEED AP and considering taking your "GreenStep Professional Project Experience" Course to gain my project experience requirement. I see that there are specific dates for the program. Is there a set meeting time for courses or do I work through online things when I have the time? Also, will the program prepare me at all for the LEED Green Associate exam?

Answer: Hi Steve, thanks for your question. The GreenStep Professional Project Experience Program is delivered at a specific time each week for several hours.

Each week the project leader assigns work that is required for the participants to complete by the following week. That work may be done at any time, however the program meeting times are set and specific.

Participants all become registered with LEED Online and get access to the tools and systems involved with tracking specific credits and responsibilities and contribute to the various project requirements.

Some of the work that participants are required to do on the program includes:

LEED Project Experience Work:

  1. Performing credit calculations
  2. Analyzing energy model reports
  3. Evaluating credit costs
  4. Trouble shooting potential setbacks
  5. Reviewing documentation for compliance
  6. Drafting Credit Interpretation Requests (CIR)

Because the GreenStep program is heavily focused on the ins and outs of working with the LEED certification process, it will also provide a new and helpful angle on your exam preparation, whether it is for the LEED Green Associate exam or the LEED AP exam.

The feedback on the program has been terrific. The project leader, Alex Spilger, is considered one of the best in the country and the positive feedback speaks to his dedication to providing excellent training and a high quality experience in the program.

Hope this helps!
