LEED for Retail vs. LEED ID+C: What's the Difference?

Question:

Yaelle asks: What are the benefits of LEED for Retail vs. LEED ID+C? I would like to promote LEED for Retail to restaurants and bars but I'm not sure if they will want to absorb the costs... Thanks.

Hi Yaelle,

Thanks for your question. The LEED for Retail rating systems will be launched in later 2010. When it is unveiled, there will be two LEED for Retail systems:

- LEED for Retail: New Construction and
- LEED for Retail: Commercial Interiors

It sounds like LEED for Retail: Commercial Interiors would be exactly what you are looking for.

There aren't too many differences between the LEED 2009 for Commercial Interiors and LEED for Retail: Commercial Interiors.

The format is a little different and the wording for some of the credits has been changed but basically it is the same.
