I took the LEED Green Associate exam back in May of 2010 and passed with a score of 190. First, take the time to read through the LEED Green Associate Candidate handbook on GBCI’s website. This will give you a feel for GBCI and all aspects of the exam. The handbook will also give you a breakdown of all of the materials that you will need to review for the exam. Next, go to the Real Life LEED website. Their website has a four-week study plan. The plan takes the resources outlined in the Green Associate handbook and breaks them up into a logical study program. Here is a link to this study plan:

Also, GreenStep & Green-Buildings.com offer a free 30 minute webinar that covers prepare LEED Green Associate exam preparations. Here is a link to the free webinar.

In addition to these free items, there are several study guides and practice exams commercial available that can be found online.

Passing the LEED GA
Sat, 02/19/2011 - 08:59 — freerob (not verified)Matt,
Here are some quick links that have tips and tricks for passing the LEED Green Associate exams:
1) Free options and LEED GA study tips
2) Five excellent LEED Green Associate Study Packages
3) Free LEED Green Associate training webinar
4) Free LEED GA test
In my opinion, I found the LEED Green Associate materials from GBCI to be educational and great for understanding green building, but not so great for studying for an exam. It's best to practice with exam simulators and practice tests once you have your foundation of material under your belt. Then focus on getting an 80% on average on those exams until you're comfortable.
Thanks again,
Rob
Passing the LEED GA
Mon, 02/28/2011 - 11:39 — mcamouHi Matt,
I teach a LEED class and I agree with Rob. I always advise my students to take the on line practice test after they fully understand the concepts. The online test will help you build confidence for when you have to take the real one. Also, most online tests give you a month to 3 month access, ability to work on them on your schedule from anywhere, informing you on area's where you need to study and understand the material more, how well you would do on the real test, as well as the practice of taking a computer version of the test as the real test is.
Just be aware that these practice tests are a study aid and are giving some sample questions. So as Rob stated, make sure you are achieving an 80% or higher on them to make sure you are ready.
Good Luck,
