Do all LEED Prerequisites Need to be Met?

Question:

Tony asks: I have a question about the prerequisites: I was under the impression that all prerequisites needed to be met for LEED, but I was questioned about the format... If a prereq is not met, can LEED Cert still be attained, just without any credits from that section?

All prerequisites must be met in order to obtain LEED certification. Prerequisites create standards for LEED buildings. They also outline the focused agenda for LEED standards. (I.e. energy savings is extremely important, and so commissioning is a prerequisite. Another prerequisite is environmental tobacco smoke control.) -Brandi Ferree
