Question:

What is the LEED AP "Core Exam"?

The LEED AP "Core Exam" is the new exam required for becoming a LEED Green Associate. The Core Exam tests knowledge about green building and general knowledge about the LEED rating system process. It is also one out of two sections required for the new LEED 2009 multiple choice LEED AP+ accreditation exam.

According to the GBCI, the LEED Green Associate credential "attests to demonstrated knowledge and skill in practicing green design, construction, and operations."

Unlike with the old LEED AP exam, new LEED AP+ candidates will have to take both the "Core Exam" and the exam for the LEED AP+ specialty track chosen by the candidate.

Candidates have 4 hours to complete the examinations.
