Question:

When can I get the LEED Green Associate reference guide from the GBCI?

Even though the LEED Green Associate exam won't be released until spring 2009, the Green Building Certification Institute ("GBCI") will be releasing the study/reference guide in February 2009.

The GBCI is running the LEED Green Associate Beta testing in February. Beta testers get to take the exam for free (unfortunately it's too late to participate in this) and the GBCI has to give them the reference guide to study. So as soon as the Beta testing is over, they'll release the LEED Green Associate reference guide for sale from the United States Green Building Council website.

People who want to take the LEED Green Associate exam will most likely be able to sign up shortly after March 31st, 2009.

So check the GBCIwebsite for updates.

I called USGBC and the person that answered wasn't sure when the 2009 guide is coming out. He said he was told it would be May/June but he had been given no specifics.

The official launch date for LEED 2009 is April 27th, 2009, so we think that's the outside date for the release of the new LEED AP Reference Guide.
