You're at the park. It's a beautiful summer day and you've brought your laptop, cell phone, and MP3 player. You are ready for a wonderful day of work, relaxation, and socializing in the modern world. There's just one problem: all those gadgets require a power source for recharge, otherwise your day in the sun will be cut short or interrupted by trips indoors to charge up.
Designer Jonathan Globerson believes he has solved the problem with his sleek, eco-friendly solar powered charging station. The clever design includes a couple of solar panels mounted over a retreated bamboo frame for the epitome of sustainable construction. It also has a small counter to place the devices, which can then connect to USB ports or power outlets, all of which run directly off the solar panels above.
Globerson hopes that the charging stations will remain free to use, with costs and rare maintenance provisions covered by sponsor advertising on the charging station itself. Should the design and concept -- including advertising revenue -- succeed, it could have a real impact on today's on-the-go population.
