Stephen asks: Is the LEED Green Associate Practice Tests with Exam Simulator sufficient to prepare for the LEED GA exam without any other prior experience or background?
Answer: Hi Stephen, thank you for your email.
The LEED GA practice tests are a very good way to study for the exam.
There is an excellent Free LEED GA practice test from GreenStep available here.
The LEED GA Practice Test with Exam Simulator is an excellent product. It contains multiple accurate exams which can be taken over and over again for practice. They also simulate the experience of the exam, not exactly, but pretty close.
I know from personal experience studying for the LEED AP exam that they work very well (I scored a 95%). I used these tests a LOT before the exam and tried to achieve at least an 80% score before feeling OK about them. This is a rule of thumb. However, it's important to note that I studied using a lot of other methods and used other tools as well to prepare. In addition to the LEED Practice Tests, I utilized several study guides, the USGBC reference guide, study groups, audio files, flash cards and had friends quiz me.
Everyone's different, but LEED GA Practice tests are most likely going to be very helpful for you.
Good luck!

They help, but...
Mon, 08/31/2009 - 19:27 — Max (not verified)I used the green-buildings.com LEED GA practice exams to prepare for my LEED GA exam, and found them to be very helpful in preparing me.
My main gripe is that many of the practice exam questions were vaguely/poorly worded, and this made the practice exams as much about decoding the intent of the question as testing knowledge of the materials. On the actual exam, the questions were phrased much more carefully, and I was able to pass by a comfortable margin.

We have noticed that the LEED Green Associate exam often has vague questions (though maybe less vague) and we aim to offer an accurate representation of the types of questions that are actually on the LEED Green Associate exam.
Congrats on passing and thanks again!
