Steven asks: I am a construction superintendent. Which LEED certification would be a good choice for me? Would the GA certification be sufficient?

Answer: Hi Steven, thank you for your email. As a construction superintendent, you could find the LEED AP credential very useful. It is more of a technical credential than LEED GA. LEED GA covers the most fundamental concepts and practices within green building and LEED.

If you have a particular area of interest or expertise in construction (i.e. retail, healthcare, office, residential, etc.) there are, or will be, LEED specialty tracks that address your interests.

Most importantly, however, is the fact that you'll have to start with LEED GA as a first step. It is the first Tier of accreditation within LEED and a prerequisite to the LEED AP exam. As a construction super, you qualify to sit for the LEED GA exam, so you may sign up at any time.

Hope this helps,
