This LEED Green Associate two-day comprehensive class is perfect for you if you are new to LEED, and have done little or no preparation for the exam. It includes a complete review of the LEED rating systems, hundreds of simulated exam questions, worksheets, and strategies for passing the exam. Approved by the American Institute of Architecture (AIA) for continuing education credit.

Which version of the LEED exam should I take?

If you are not currently a LEED AP, you must first pass the LEED Green Associate exam. This is the tier one exam for any new LEED AP. This is first step before becoming a LEED AP+.

What is the difference between LEED Green Associate (GA) and LEED AP+?

Attaining a LEED Green Associate credential is the first step to attaining a LEED AP+ credential. A LEED Green Associate credential denotes basic knowledge and skill in practicing green design, operations, and construction. Attaining the LEED Green Associate will enable you to join the conversation about LEED and to understand how LEED works and how it impacts your projects or work flow.

A LEED AP credential signifies in-depth knowledge in green building practices and specialization in a particular field such as commercial buildings, homes, etc. There are five specialties: Building Design & Construction, Interior Design & Construction, Operations & Maintenance, Homes, or Neighborhood Development.

What are the eligibility requirements for the LEED Green Associate exam?

LEED Green Associate candidates are required to do ONE (1) of the following:
Option 1: You must be (or have previously been) employed in a sustainable field of work
Option 2: You must be (or have been) involved in a LEED Certification Project
Option 3: You must show involvement in an education program that addresses green building principles.

Will Your Courses help with the eligibility requirements for the LEED Green Associate exam?

Yes! When you take any of our courses, either online or offline, we have certificates of completion available to help you meet the eligibility requirements for the new LEED GA and LEED AP v3 exams.

How do I take the LEED exam?

Individuals must go to the Green Building Certification Institute website at www.GBCI.org and follow the instructions for LEED Professional Credentials. If you are not currently a LEED Green Associate or LEED AP, you must start with the LEED Green Associate credential before progressing to LEED AP.

How do I become a LEED AP?

Individuals in becoming a LEED AP must go to the Green Building Certification Institute website at www.GBCI.org and follow the instructions for LEED Professional Credentials.

It is important to note that all candidates seeking to become LEED Accredited Professionals ("LEED APs") must first take and pass the Tier I exam for LEED Green Associate before taking the LEED AP exam. Once an individual has passed the LEED Green Associate exam, he or she has earned that credential. Individuals may then decide to proceed with taking the Tier II, LEED AP exam. Exams may be taken on separate dates or consecutively in one exam session.
