Expert Advice on Green Buildings

About Dana Dake, LEED Green Associate

I became a LEED Green Associate in June, 2010. I am fascinated by the number of buildings throughout the U.S. that are seeking LEED certification. While enrolled at Solano Community College in Vacaville, CA, the curriculum in the first ever Green Program laid the groundwork and reasoning for becoming more concerned about sustainable issues. Most recently I worked for a nonprofit in Fairfield, CA where the Green Team (3 people) were involved in first greening our office and then preforming energy audits on other nonprofits in Solano County so that they could invest the savings on client programs. After the funding for that position expired, I relocated to Sandy, Utah, where I have family and where I can focus on studying LEED for Schools and New Construction. My immediate goal is to become involved in a LEED project and become a LEED AP.

I have lived an traveled throughout the United States and spent two years in La Paz, Bolivia at the American Cooperative School. In 2010 I became passionate about sustainabilty after attending the first ever "Green Program" at Solano Community College in Vacaville, CA. I became a LEED Green Associate in June of 2010. In 1977 I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design with a minor in Industrial Arts. I aspire to become a LEED AP in Schools, O&M, or Neighborhood Development.
