Mr. Rosen is a New York State Registered Architect, LEED Accredited Professional and Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager with over 27 years experience in the design, construction and operations of healthcare facilities in the New York City area. Notable projects on which Neil has worked include the Milstein Pavilion at Presbyterian Hospital, The Children’s Hospital at Montefiore and the Ambulatory Care Pavilion at Bellevue.
He has worked on both the Builder’s side as well as that of the Owner, providing a unique perspective into the holistic construction process. Neil’s understanding of the operational component of built facilities lends him an important insight into the effects of design and construction throughout the buildings life.
Neil is the Treasurer as well as the Chairman of the Healthcare Committee for the USGBC-Long Island Chapter. He is a member of the Water Efficiency Technical Advisory Group for USGBC National. He works with the USGBC’s Education Provider Program as both a reviewer and an auditor. Neil helps to educate today’s emerging green professionals preparing them for the LEED GA and AP+ exams, specializing in Indoor Environmental Quality.
In his current position at the North Shore LIJ Health System, he is responsible for initiating and coordinating the Health System’s Sustainability Initiatives. Neil was instrumental in helping to forge a relationship between the Health System and the EPA culminating in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between them. He leads the effort to facilitate the certification of all system’s projects under the USGBC’s LEED rating systems. Currently, he is managing more than 20 projects at various stages within the certification process.
