Trent is a 24 year veteran of the insurance industry, and now uses his experience as a Property Programs Instructor for Vale Training Solutions in Arlington, Texas. He developed the Green Risk Professional designation as well as authoring insurance course manuals for Vale. Trent lectures across the country on green issues and has presented to NAMIC, CPCU chapter, claims association, national claim conferences, restoration industry, and to universities. In addition, he teaches and develops other property insurance courses at Vale. He has earned the Associate in Claims (AIC) and LEED Green Associate designations. He is also certified as a Corporate Social Responsibility Practitioner from the Institute of Environmental Management Assessment, and he is a Green Risk Professional (GRP). He has also earned the EPA Certified Renovator and Water Damage Restoration Technician (WRT) designations.
Trent has a Bachelor Business Administration degree from the University of North Texas (1986) where he studied insurance and real estate. Following university, he spent seven years at State Farm Insurance and held positions as a claims specialist, senior referral unit specialists, and served at catastrophe sites supervising property claims. He is also a veteran adjuster of Hurricane Andrew and numerous catastrophe events during this tenure at State Farm.
Trent was also the CEO of a fire and water restoration company for five years specializing in rebuilding both commercial and residential properties. Furthermore, he owned an independent adjusting service ten years. In 2006 Trent authored the book, Catastrophe Adjusting, which helps prepares new adjusters enter the catastrophe claims field. He has also been a licensed insurance agent.
Trent has been married thirteen years to Heather Massey who is a trainer and technical analyst for Cunningham Lindsey. They have three beautiful children and are active in their church and community.
