Founded in 1948, LAARS serves a diverse base of customers located in many countries all over the globe. The company’s product line includes commercial and residential products in a capacity range from 50 to 5,000 MBtu that utilize either natural gas or liquid propane fuel for residential, commercial and industrial space and water heating applications. Controls, storage tanks, pool heaters, parts and accessories round out the company’s offerings.
One of the company’s newest offerings, the NeoTherm condensing boiler is a fully packaged, spark ignition, space-saving hydronic solution, high in energy-efficiency and low in emissions. The NeoTherm’s 95% AFUE efficiency is the product of a modulating 5 to 1 turndown to 20% input rate, and direct vent, sealed combustion. NeoTherm is an ideal product for retrofit applications as well, with top connections (horizontal or vertical direct vent), a built-in condensate trap, and zero clearance to combustibles (ideal for alcove or closet installations). The boiler includes an ASME stainless steel heat exchanger, integrated pump and the new LAARS Integrated Control System, which directly controls ignition, frost protection, temperature and high limit through a user-friendly interface. The NeoTherm also comes standard with a 30 psi ASME rated pressure relief valve, temperature a pressure gauge, drain valve, and burner site glass.
The NeoTherm boasts some of the industry’s highest efficiencies while keeping NOx emissions lower than current government requirements at 10ppm, which exceeds California’s standard AB-1953 and NF/ANSI-61 requirements. Venting can accommodate up to an 100’ equivalent length run with PVC piping.
A 12-year limited warranty on the boiler and 5-year limited warranty on the water heater accompany the NeoTherm, which as an ENERGY STAR certified product, also applies for many local and national rebates or tax credits.
The residential NeoTherm HB come in sizes from 80 to 210 MBh, with the commercial NeoTherm HB in sizes from 285 to 850 MBh. Larger systems can utilize staging with the NeoTherm, which integrates easily with building automation systems to become part of a multiple sequencing control scenario.
LAARS systems are competitively priced for ultra-high efficiency applications.
